PawPlex Grooming Guide
Grooming Appointment Overview
A grooming appointment at The PawPlex begins with learning about your dog and the service you are requesting. This guide explains what generally happens before, during, and after your dog’s grooming visit.
Step One
Before Your Appointment
When requesting an appointment, provide accurate information about your dog, including their breed, size, coat condition, previous grooming experience, and any concerns about handling.
Let the PawPlex team know what result you would like. This may include your preferred coat length, areas that need special attention, or anything you want the groomer to know before the visit.
Arriving at The PawPlex
At drop off, our team may review the requested service and confirm important details about your dog. Clear communication helps the groomer understand what you expect and whether any adjustments may be needed.
- Your preferred grooming result
- Recent changes in your dog’s coat or behavior
- Areas that may be sensitive
- Previous grooming difficulties
- Instructions discussed when booking
Step Two
During the Grooming Appointment
The exact grooming process depends on the service booked and your dog’s individual needs. A visit may include bathing, drying, brushing, coat trimming, nail care, ear care, or other services included with the appointment.
The groomer may need to adjust the original plan if they discover matting, coat damage, unusual sensitivity, or behavior that makes part of the service difficult to complete comfortably.
Communication During the Visit
The PawPlex team may contact you if additional information or approval is needed. Keep your phone available during the appointment and confirm that the team has the correct contact number.
Your dog’s comfort and safety remain more important than achieving a specific style or completing every requested service.
Step Three
After the Grooming Appointment
The PawPlex will contact you when your dog’s appointment is complete and they are ready for pickup. At pickup, you can review the finished groom, ask questions, and discuss anything the groomer noticed during the visit.
This may include information about coat condition, matting, sensitive areas, nail condition, or suggestions for maintaining your dog’s coat between appointments.
When You Return Home
Your dog may be tired, thirsty, excited, or ready to rest after grooming. Check your dog’s coat and overall appearance before leaving so any immediate questions can be addressed at The PawPlex.
Contact our team if you notice something after returning home that you would like to discuss.
Appointment Timing
Grooming times vary based on your dog’s size, coat type, coat condition, temperament, drying time, and the service requested.
The PawPlex team may provide a general estimate, but the completion time can change after grooming begins. Please wait until the team confirms that your dog is ready before arriving for pickup.
Grooming Results and Expectations
Photos can help explain the style you want, but the final result depends on your dog’s current coat condition, coat texture, comfort level, and the amount of hair available to work with.
A heavily matted coat may require a shorter cut than originally requested. A dog that becomes uncomfortable with handling may also receive a modified service.
The groomer will work toward your requested result while considering what is realistic and appropriate for your dog.
