1. Choose the Right Service

Bath service

A bath appointment may include bathing, drying, brushing, ear cleaning, and nail care depending on the service selected. This is usually best for pets that need routine cleaning and coat maintenance without a full haircut.

Full groom

A full groom usually includes a bath, drying, brushing, nail care, and a haircut or trim based on your instructions and your pet’s coat condition.

When booking, explain your pet’s breed, size, coat type, current coat condition, and the look you want. Photos can help the groomer understand your preference.

2. Before the Appointment

• Confirm that PawPlex has the current vaccination records required for your pet’s service.
• Tell the team about allergies, skin problems, recent injuries, medication, anxiety, or behavior concerns.
• Let PawPlex know if your pet has had a previous negative grooming experience.
• Avoid feeding a large meal immediately before the appointment if your pet becomes carsick or anxious.
• Bring your pet on a secure leash or in a secure carrier.

3. Drop Off and Grooming Instructions

Arrive at the confirmed time and allow a few minutes for check in. Be clear about the length, shape, face style, ear style, tail style, and any areas you do not want trimmed.

Share a phone number that can be reached during the appointment. The groomer may need approval if the coat condition, behavior, skin, or health makes the requested service unsafe or unrealistic.

Pickup time is an estimate until the groomer has examined your pet and started the service.

4. Coat Condition and Matting

Mats can pull tightly on the skin, trap moisture, hide irritation, and make brushing painful. Severe matting may require a shorter haircut than requested so the coat can be removed safely.

PawPlex should prioritize comfort and safety over keeping a specific coat length. Extra time, special handling, or coat condition may affect the final price.

Regular brushing and a consistent grooming schedule can help prevent painful matting between appointments.

5. Timing, Pricing, and Daycare

Most grooming appointments take about three to four hours, although timing can change based on coat condition, pet size, behavior, drying time, and the services requested.

Full haircut prices begin at different amounts based on pet size and coat type. Final pricing may change based on coat condition, temperament, and the amount of work required.

Dogs with current required vaccines may be eligible for a complimentary day of daycare with grooming. Confirm eligibility when booking.

6. Pickup and Aftercare

• Wait for PawPlex to confirm that grooming is complete before arriving.
• Review the finished groom before leaving and ask questions while the groomer is available.
• Check the recommended schedule for the next bath, brush out, nail trim, or haircut.
• Watch for unusual redness, itching, or sensitivity after grooming and contact PawPlex with concerns.
• Brush at home using tools that are safe for your pet’s coat type.
