PawPlex Quick Guide for Pet Parents

Transportation Guide

Tail Waggin’ Transit is PawPlex’s door to door pet transportation service, covering pickup and drop off for grooming, daycare, and boarding within eight miles of PawPlex, with extended service available further out for an added mileage fee. One way rides start at $20, round trip starts at $35, and round trip paired with a half day of daycare starts at $45 total. This guide covers the service area, ride types, pricing, how to schedule, how to prepare your pet, and what to expect at pickup and drop off.

Plan for the route window: Standard morning pickup is generally scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Standard afternoon drop off is generally scheduled between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Exact timing depends on the route and the day’s schedule.

Is my location within Tail Waggin’ Transit’s service area?

Tail Waggin’ Transit provides door to door pet transportation within eight miles of PawPlex. Locations between eight and fifteen miles may be accepted with an additional charge of one dollar per mile over eight miles. Service availability depends on the address, route capacity, service type, and requested date, so confirm your address before relying on transportation for an appointment or boarding stay.

Which Tail Waggin’ Transit ride type should I choose?

One way

PawPlex picks up your pet or returns your pet home after the scheduled service, but not both.

Round trip

PawPlex picks up your pet and returns your pet home after grooming, daycare, or boarding.

Round trip with half day daycare

This option combines transportation with a half day of daycare when available and when the pet meets daycare requirements.

How much does Tail Waggin’ Transit cost?

  • One way transportation starts at $20.
  • Round trip transportation starts at $35.
  • Round trip transportation with half day daycare starts at $45 total.
  • Trips outside the standard eight mile area may include mileage charges.
  • Additional pets may have separate transportation charges.

Transportation fees are added to the cost of grooming, boarding, daycare, or other services. Confirm the final amount when scheduling, and see the Pricing page for the full rate list.

How do I schedule a Tail Waggin’ Transit ride?

Request transportation when booking the pet care service. Provide the full pickup address, gate code, building instructions, phone number, pet count, service type, and preferred ride option.

  • Schedule early because route space is limited.
  • Confirm who will release and receive the pet.
  • Tell PawPlex about stairs, gates, parking limits, access codes, or building rules.
  • Report health, mobility, behavior, or handling concerns before the ride.

How do I prepare my pet for pickup?

  • Have your pet ready before the route window begins.
  • Use a secure collar, harness, leash, or carrier based on PawPlex instructions.
  • Place food, medication, and belongings in clearly labeled bags.
  • Keep your phone nearby in case the driver needs help finding the location.
  • Make sure the person releasing the pet understands the plan.

Delays at one stop can affect the full route. Pets that are not ready may need to be rescheduled.

How can I help my pet stay calm during the ride?

If your pet hasn’t ridden in a vehicle with anyone other than you before, a couple of short practice trips beforehand can help take the edge off the first Tail Waggin’ Transit pickup. Avoid a large meal right before the scheduled pickup window if your pet tends to get carsick, and a familiar blanket or towel placed in the carrier can help a nervous pet feel more settled.

If your pet is anxious around new people or has a history of being reactive during handling, tell PawPlex when you schedule the ride so they know what to expect at pickup.

What happens at pickup and drop off, and how is safety handled?

PawPlex may group stops by location to create the safest and most efficient route. Exact arrival times can vary because of traffic, weather, service delays, and the number of scheduled stops.

Pets should never be left loose or unattended for handoff. A responsible adult should be available unless PawPlex has approved another arrangement.

Tell PawPlex immediately if your address, access instructions, contact person, service schedule, or pickup plan changes.
